Here we go again - more desperation by the telecoms. only difference is that now Cisco is jumping into the fray knowing that if the telecoms are successful at creating a two-tier Internet, then Cisco and other networking companies will be able to see more networking gear. At the end of the day, guess who will pay? US Taxpayers and US consumers - YOU/US!
Write to your congressman and senators about preserving Net Neutrality as was the original intention and design of the Internet. Preserve Net Neutrality to preserve innovation and not stifle it. The more cost effective it is for people to do business on the Internet, the more likely that people will start Internet businesses. If we all have to pay an Internet Tax there will undoubtedly be fewer entrepreneurs willing or able to innovate due to the higher costs.
